QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Can you make a mattress with Kapok filling? What does it feel like?
Hi,
Yes, we do make custom mattresses with Kapok filling. The size and height need to be given by you.
Kapok mattresses give a medium firm to firm feel, depending on the amount of filling. They're great for orthopedic purpose, specially for anyone looking to avoid back pain or those who already have it. Unlike a memory foam mattress which feels bouncy, a Kapok mattress retains the shape of your head, neck and spine. -
What filling is the best for an Organic Pillow?
With the rise in health-oriented products and a growing consciousness among consumers for quality products that are good for the skin and the body, the organic pillow has taken centre-stage.
An organic pillow could be either an organic cotton pillow, kapok pillow, buckwheat pillow or even a latex pillow. Depending on the firmness or softness you desire, you can opt for one.
However, the kapok pillow stuffing has a multitude of health properties. Not only is it natural with no chemicals, it is also airy, lightweight and wicks away moisture unlike cotton. Hence, Kapok is known as silk cotton. The loft can also be adjusted, and most importantly the answer to 'Can you wash Kapok Pillows' is a yes, unlike other pillows. -
I am a side sleeper. Is this pillow suitable for me?
Hi,
The Kapok Pillow is designed in a way that it suits all types of sleepers since the fill is adjustable. The zippered pillow allows for any addition or removal of the fibre based on the loft you desire.
Also one tends to change the sleeping position several times during the night and hence a person is every type of a sleeper during the course of his/her sleep, for which the pillow is uniquely designed. -
Could you explain what exactly a Kapok pillow is?
Hi there,
Kapok (Ceiba pentandra) is a silky-soft fibre that comes from the seed pods of kapok trees. They’re impressive trees that can grow to be 200 feet tall with trunks as wide as 9 feet.
Kapok is a cruelty free down alternative and is also known as silk cotton.
Kapok is an attractive alternative to other fill types like down, feather or synthetic foam because kapok is: safe. It’s free of toxic materials found in many foam pillows. cruelty-free. The practice of gathering feathers and down for use in pillows is far from humane. A compostible and biodegradable resource that reduces waste, a Kapok Pillow provides great support. -

Hello. Polyfibre pillows lump over a period of time. Does that happen with the kapok pillow too?
Hi there. Fibre pillows - be it microfibre, hollow fibre or even cotton tend to lump over a period of time. Memory foam on the oher hand is basically petrochemicals. Also polyfibres aren't a good choice for your body and skin, considering the immense amount of chemicals that go into them. Secondly they tend to lump after a few months.
Cotton on the other hand captures moisture. Hence, Kapok is an alternative best suited for pillows. It is natural, hypoallergenic ensuring you don't breathe in chemical-laden vapours. Secondly it wicks moisture as opposed to other pillow fibres. Thirdly it supports the neck and head well. Considering different people like different firmness/softness, the Amouve Organic Kapok Pillow is designed to adjust the fill in varying heights. It is all-in-one and can work wonderfully for just about anyone desiring great sleep.
