“Finally Found a Comfortable Foam-Free Mattress”
After trying memory foam and latex mattresses, I switched to the Amouve Kapok Mattress. The mattress feels supportive without being hard and stays much cooler than foam. I was specifically looking for a natural mattress without polyurethane foam, and the Kapok filling combined with organic cotton was exactly what I wanted. My sleep quality has improved and I wake up with less stiffness in my lower back.

“Great mattress. Like the firmness.”
I wanted a firm mattress that reminded me of the cotton mattresses we used while growing up. This mattress is nicely made. Came with a zippered cover that we now use often as we have kids at home. It came in packed thoroughly. Like the firmness. I feel well rested.

Is the kapok mattress firm or soft?
It is firm, and deliberately so. You rest on the surface rather than sinking into it, the way memory foam lets your hips settle in a hollow. The kapok pushes back evenly along your spine, so your shoulders and hips stay level, turning over feels effortless and there is no trapped, hugged sensation. The top layer still feels cushioned and plush to the hand, so firm here means orthopedic support, not hard. It is the same grounded firmness people remember from a traditional cotton mattress, only lighter, cooler and springier.
How is it different from a traditional cotton mattress?
A cotton mattress gives you that familiar firm, grounded Indian bed, but cotton absorbs moisture, compacts into lumps and needs sun-drying and re-carding every year or two. Kapok is roughly eight times lighter, hollow and naturally moisture-resistant, so it keeps the same non-sinking firmness for far longer with only occasional airing.
I already own a cotton mattress. Is it worth switching?
If yours has flattened unevenly, grown heavy or started holding damp, yes. Customers coming off a cotton mattress tell us the kapok feel is recognisably the same family of support: firm and non-sinking, but lighter, cooler and far easier to live with day to day.
Does it contain any foam or latex?
No. No foam, no latex, no springs, and no chemical additives. Just virgin-grade kapok inside organic cotton ticking, hand-tufted.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes, any size, including baby and pet beds. Email care@amouve.com or message us on WhatsApp.
How long does delivery take?
Dispatch takes 15 to 18 days, followed by 6 to 8 business days in transport. An alphanumeric PAN or GST is required for transport booking.
Is there a washable cover?
Yes. An additional machine-washable zippered cover is available, so the sleeping surface stays fresh without ever washing the mattress itself.
Is any glue used in the mattress?
None. There is no glue, adhesive, foam layer, spring or synthetic filler. Only virgin-grade kapok inside organic cotton ticking, held by hand-tufted stitches.
How do I care for it?
Do not vacuum. Air it under indirect sunlight every few months. Spot-clean only. Rotate every 2 to 3 months for even wear.
Is a kapok mattress the same as a silk cotton mattress?
Yes. Kapok is commonly known as silk cotton, Semal cotton or ilavam panju in different regions.
Is this a non-toxic mattress?
The mattress contains 100% virgin-grade kapok fibre and contains no memory foam, polyurethane foam, latex, springs or synthetic fillers.
Is this a cooling mattress?
Kapok's hollow fibre structure promotes airflow and temperature regulation, helping create a cooler sleeping environment.
Is this mattress eco-friendly?
Kapok is a renewable and biodegradable tree fibre, making it a sustainable alternative to many synthetic mattress materials.
